I have always had a strong passion for film, music, illustration, painting, and comics. Their importance shifts.

I studied comics at The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art (class of 2001), but all my other skills have been self-taught through stubbornness, a passion for learning, and perhaps a bit of arrogant “how hard can it be?” thinking. It turns out, it can be pretty hard. But then that stubbornness kicks in.

That same attitude might be why I am so passionate about working outside the established norms. Do it yourself and don’t wait for someone to hand you a bag of money and allow you to create the art you want to make. When it comes to music and filmmaking, I love collaborating with good friends—and making new ones along the way. I think of my filmmaking as a group of friends hanging out in a garage playing punk music. It’s not a financial transaction, but camaraderie focusing on a common goal and making it better than the low budget permits.
